Sensoreel


Overview
Sensoreel invites audiences to actively engage with the narrative world of a film by introducing a pop-up experience inside movie theaters. Sensoreel leverages the allure of themed entertainment and the interactivity of social media personalization alongside the visual appeal of breathtaking interactive key art.
New attractions incorporate sensory cues and dynamic interfaces into modular hot spots, engaging audiences in a new experiential journey. The project revolutionizes the passive spectatorship of the traditional movie theater, transforming it into a participatory experience.

This project emerges as a design response to the contemporary challenges faced by the movie theater industry, marked by a decline in attendance post-COVID and the ascendance of streaming platforms. In the face of an ever-changing entertainment landscape craving deeper engagement, I’ve been driven by a vision to transform how stories are told and experienced.
Drawing from a rich background that spans the film and design industries, I’ve cultivated a deep understanding of both realms through hands-on experience. This unique blend of training has illuminated the inherent limitations within each industry. Faced with the constraints of traditional narrative forms in film and static user experiences in graphic design, I was driven to innovate beyond these boundaries. This led to the creation of Sensoreel, a groundbreaking platform conceived to transcend conventional limits.
The development of Sensoreel introduced a groundbreaking methodology in immersive experience design, structured around four core steps that underline its innovative nature. Initially, the focus was on theatrical design, crafting new pop-up experiences within theaters that feature over eight interactive hot spots. These areas were designed to draw audiences into film worlds.



Following this, I adapted six different pieces of film key art, demonstrating the potential for traditional cinematic content to transition into this new immersive format.






The methodology also extended to the creation of an interactive OTT platform for home use, broadening the reach and applicability of the Sensoreel experience. A set of key art guidelines was also developed to ensure visual and thematic consistency across all new interactive media formats. This meticulous and innovative approach sets Sensoreel apart, laying the foundation for a new era in cinematic engagement.


To complement these elements, I produced two distinct types of marketing videos: a demonstration video that outlines the practical application of Sensoreel and a sizzle video that captures its essence and appeal.


As Sensoreel strides into the future, the horizon is teeming with possibilities. The immediate goal is to launch the Sensoreel website and establish an interactive key art company as the initial phase of revenue generation. This strategic beginning will not only anchor Sensoreel’s presence in the digital and cinematic landscape but also pave the way for the grand vision of transforming movie theaters into immersive, engaging spaces.

The journey ahead is ambitious, seeking to redefine the essence of cinematic experience by intertwining the marvels of immersive design with the timeless allure of storytelling. In pursuit of this vision, I aim to forge partnerships, secure funding, and attract like-minded collaborators who share a passion for innovation in storytelling. Sensoreel is poised to revolutionize the entertainment industry, offering audiences around the globe new ways to experience and interact with narratives. This venture is not just about reimagining the theater; it’s about crafting a legacy of immersive experiences that resonate across generations.
